Hugo Duro spoke to VCF Media after the match against Sevilla FC on Matchday 15 of LaLiga EA Sports 2025–26. The Valencia striker, who scored the equalizing goal, highlighted the team’s effort and commitment until the end in trying to achieve a positive result.
Hugo Duro: “We have to highlight the effort the team put in”
The Valencia CF goalscorer spoke to the media after the match
BAD LUCK
“We wanted to win. The match turned against us with that unlucky play from César, who tripped and the ball ended up almost in the top corner. From then on we kept trying, we didn’t stop running, and we came away with a point that feels like too little, but is still good considering how the match went.”
THE FIGHT UNTIL THE END
It’s the minimum this team has to give. You can play better or worse, things may go your way or not, but effort and fight are non-negotiable. The team gave everything and we’re taking a point, even though we would have liked to take all three. We have to hold on to the effort, recover after a very intense week, and try to maintain the unbeaten run and pick up three points at a time.
TOUGH MATCH
They defended man-to-man and we didn’t know how to get out of that constant pressure. There can be sluggish games, but the important thing is that we took a point from a match in which we weren’t good offensively.
GOALSCORER
I was left with a bit of a bad taste from a similar play in the first half where I didn’t strike the ball well. But this is football. Sometimes you hit it poorly and it goes in, and other times you send it wide. I just try to help the team.
CONTROVERSIAL PLAY
I spoke with him at halftime, and he told me that he’s just trying to run. Ugrinic is also trying to run and they whistle a foul, another Sevilla player hits Diego and they whistle a foul… It didn’t convince me.
